Halloween Tunnel Hike
This is an annual
hike through the abandoned Milwaukee Railroad tunnel at
Snoqualmie Pass. It is only about five miles round trip,
so very easy to pack a fancy picnic lunch for the far
side (west) of the tunnel. We generally have a few
Jack-o-lanterns and other scary creatures surprising us
along the way.
Getting our gear ready in the parking lot... we have about 25 hikers this time around.
won't need my shades for long
heading toward the tunnel
just a little bit of rain coming down
just around the corner now
Erica just inside the tunnel. This east end is pretty wet with water pouring out of the ceiling.
We make it out and start setting up for lunch as others trickle in.
Everyone enjoys lunch complete with hot drinks, wine, or whatever you desire.
Better lunch than you get at home!
The rain starts in again.
About time to head back into the tunnel.
All packed up and back we go.
Hey, what do hillbillies do for Halloween? Pump Kin. :-)
We all make it out safe and sound.
Still raining, but we are all happy.
What are we going to do next?
Some people decide to come over to my place to relax...here are Amy and Brian catching up on the freeway.
Yum! Hike left-overs for dinner.
not to mention a few cosmos in a wine glass.
A cosmo is nothing in comparison to straight Russian vodka.
Tatyanna also enjoys her vodka.
